Ty was named one of ten contemporary artists in Austin to watch in 2017 by Culture List and considers himself an artist, writer, designer, activist, and filmmaker.

In addition to the influence of his uncle, sculptor & raku artist Conway “Jiggs” Pearson, Ty studied under American sculptor William Catling while attending Azusa Pacific University’s School of Fine Arts.
