The art center’s partnership with Waco isd

One of our top priorities and goals as a non-profit is to educate and encourage children and adults alike to explore their creative side and to better understand the benefits, purpose, and importance of art. Our Partnership with Waco ISD is based around bringing a creative way of thinking to learning concepts of Math and Science.

Teaching Artist Avy Holmes creates lessons each week for kindergarten-Fifth grade students that connect science and math TEKS (Texas Education Knowledge and Skills) & teach them in a very hands on what to think of the concepts in a real world way of problem solving.

Title 1 is the largest federally funded educational program. The program provides supplemental funds to school districts to assist schools with the highest student concentrations of poverty to meet school educational goals. A title 1 school is a school receiving federal funds for Title 1 students.

The basic principle of Title 1 is that schools with large concentrations of low-income students will receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting student’s educational goals. The number of low-income students is determined by the number of students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program. Title 1 funds can be used to improve curriculum, instructional activities, counseling, parental involvement, and increase staff and program improvement. The funding assists schools in meeting the educational goals of low-income students.

Welcome to the Texas Title I Priority Schools (TTIPS) Grant website! TTIPS grants are made from funds made available under Section 1003(g) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), currently authorized under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. TTIPS is referred to as the School Improvement Grant (SIG) by the United States Department of Education. The purpose of this website is to provide information about the TTIPS Grant options, requirements, resources, and contacts.
