The first talk in our Waco series with a three dimensional artist. Drinks will be available for purchase during the talk, and Milo chef/owner Corey McIntyre is working on a special menu for ACW patrons to enjoy in the dining room after the lecture.
An Ohio native, Morgan Eyring is an emerging sculptor who now works in Waco, TX. Her materials are primarily steel and wood and she often incorporates fiber into her pieces. One of her most recent installations, Solitary Headspaces, was displayed at Cultivate 7Twelve earlier this year and deftly demonstrated this broad use of material. Eyring uses analytical techniques as the backbone to her creative process, often translating personal data into a visual language of shape, color, and material which is then “plotted” onto a canvas or within a space.
Morgan graduated with her BFA from the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning at the University of Cincinnati in 2017. After a few leaps of faith, she found her way to Waco and is currently working at a local metalshop as a designer and fabricator, and for a small furniture business, LINE Handcrafted. She is a member of two local artist groups, Mammoth Collective and The Unknowns.
