Learn to weave with the Art Center! Trisstah Wagstaff has studied painting and weaving in her undergraduate and graduate courses and she will be a leading a 3-week class on weaving in November. Wagstaff will teach specific weaves that include- among others: soumak, lace, and the Egyptian knot. Most supplies are provided but we encourage students to bring some of their own fibers to ensure they end up with pieces they really love. Suggested: Three to six different types of yarn of various thickness/texture, meant to be used together, coordinating strips of fabric are also an option.

Trisstah Brittany Wagstaff is an artist currently living and creating in Waco, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting in 2014 and received her Master of Fine Arts in painting in 2018 through the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work has been published in Studio Visit Magazine volumes 42 and 44. She explores beauty and the unexpected places that it can be found while recognizing beauty as a language of hope. Along with painting, she has focused on fiber arts throughout her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She is an emerging artist who has shown her paintings in Waco, Austin, Ft. Worth, and Brownwood Texas as well as Savannah, Georgia. She has guest lectured at Baylor University and is currently an adjunct instructor at McLennan Community College.
