KIDS Art Adventure Camp

DAYS: All Camps meet Mon – Fri
TIMES: Morning Adventures: 9:00 – 12:00
Afternoon Adventures: 2:00 – 5:00
SESSIONS:
Session I (June 16 – 20)

Session V (August 4 – 8)
TUITION: A Half-day Adventure (morning OR afternoon) is $95 ($85 for ACW members)
A Full-day Adventure (available Sessions I – IV) is $175 ($165 for ACW members)
ADVENTURE DETAILS:
ALL Adventurers: Wear sunscreen! Bring a water bottle and a hat. Wear clothes and shoes suitable for messy creative exploration. (Close-toed sneakers preferable)
FULL-DAY Adventurers: Bring a sack lunch
SUMMER ART ADVENTURE CAMP CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
ART – Bottled Up Inside
Express Yourself! It’s not bad to get mad, just make sure you don’t ‘lose it;’ consider that feeling and learn how to USE it! From pounding metal to tongue-twisting sonnets, explore how painters, poets, and properly placed, perfectly pleasing puns can help you say, “Well Done!”
ART – Beneath the Surface
Earth’s habit of shifting and squirming can have breath-taking results. Does that rock have chicken pox? You mean that dirty lump of coal can become beautiful? How does the earth do that? Come explore HOW! Make naturally beautiful jewelry with your scientific discoveries.
ART – Smaller Than the Eye Can See
Join us in our hunt for beauty in unexpected places. With the aid of pocket microscopes, search for patterns on the smallest insects down to teeny-tiny leaf cells. Experiment with ideas from abstract artists who have been inspired by nature’s patterns. What type of abstract art will you most enjoy making?
ART – Out of this World
Look, up in the sky, it’s art! Let Galileo guide you through a glimpse of the universe and beyond. Create your own moon and stars to light your room. Thursday night of this class will include a starry night event for families, (weather permitting).
ART – It’s You!
Have I told you lately you are beautiful? Your body is a work of art -- Every joint, every lash! You’ll paint, you’ll draw; you’ll even swing from the trees, while creating a life-sized model of yourself.
ART – The Wright Stuff
Do you have what it takes to build towers galore? How about bridges, or pyramids, an arch for a door? You have it; I know it. So, it’s you we invite to make models, build structures, and learn about Frank Lloyd Wright.
